Realizing this full vision of smart campus, we can determinate that its main need is an instrumented, interconnected, and intelligent cyber physical system that take advantages of the ICT equipment’s integration and the physical infrastructures in the campus.

In a smart campus, big data is continuously generated by the different functional sensing devices. This delivers great network challenges on the computation, transmission, storage, security and energy consumption of traditional sensor-to-cloud network, which typically incurs huge amount of network transmission, high energy consumption, long processing delay and cyber security breaches.
